All Our Best To The West

Thanks to everyone who joined us at a show or a hang on our west coast tour.

Owl City, Runner Runner, and Classic Crime were all wonderful people to have with us on the road.

We start vocals this week and I'm pretty one track minded about it. Its gonna be fun.

:( I'm so depressed that I missed you in Orangevale!! They sold out of tickets, so I was stuck at home... Oh well... I'll see you again.... I SWEAR!!!

It was pretty awesome to get to see you without having to travel too far. :) Thanks for putting up with me as always. It was fun - for me at least. :) Come back soon. The vocals will be awesome, I'm sure.

See you at Creation.

Beautiful show in Murray, so glad that you brought Adam, and the TCC crew on tour, it was a perfect balance of amazingness. Thanks for chatting afterward...and not being too freaked out by the pancakes. Can't wait to hear the rest of the new album, and see some more touring out this way.

Hii, Matthew!
The lyrics of Relient K are great and certainly some of those changed my life! I wanna thank you for this! Ahh, by the way, my name is Thaís and I'm from Brazil, we here don't have many bands like you guys and that is sad.. but I think this will change! \ o /
Sorry to my bad English, but I think you understood me. ^^
Good luck to the new record!

'Twas an excellent tour. Loved it when I caught it in Murray. I hope your food from Alberto's was good. . .I did not like their tacos.

Great show last night...loved the CAKE cover. The great covers are one of my favorite thing about your shows. Have you all ever considered doing a covers album? It would be awesome.

So I was trying to find the lyrics to the three new songs you guys played at your show the other night. I found them eventually, but while looking I saw the lyrics to some old songs that I used to listen to on my old computer but I lost. Any chance you guys will ever release Show and Tell or Snake Charmer? I remember thinking those songs were so great/funny, even if they were a little rough.

I really enjoyed seeing you and your brilliant band mates in Doswell, VA this weekend/Thursday. It was my first concert...ever... and my first impression was "Holy shnike, my heart is going to vibrate right out of my chest." Your music has always meant a lot to my husband and me, the recessional at our wedding was "Best Thing" played off of our wonderful iPod. Sure, I nearly broke my neck trying to run down the aisle in spike heels. But it was a good day, regardless of your music attempting to trip me.

You seem like a fun group, so let me know if you'd ever like to go out for a corn dog or something. It'll be my treat. Good luck with the new album, I'm excited about it. You're a great/ slightly weird song writer, and I love it!

Anyway, sorry that this comment is so long! God bless you, Matt, and don't work too hard.

Your sister in Christ,
Hannah

Dude, I am totally agreeing with you. Love the work, by the way. Awesome blog, too. Man, Matt... man of many talents.

Hey, this is off topic, but do you or the other band members have the meanings to some of your songs written down anywhere? ...Because for some of them I'd really like to know whats going, you know? They're brilliant no doubt, but I'd love for some explanation. I'm not that insightful.

Best of luck and Godspeed!

Hi-I have a 12 year old son who is an extreme fan of Relient K. He has all your music, listens to it relentlessly, and has attended a Relient K concert at the Norva last Fall and also at Kingsfest just last month. Both times he has prayed and gone to great lengths to try to get your signatures. This last time, after the concert, he wrote on his calendar, "Don't ever expect good things." I know I'm just a mom, and I am probably trying too hard, (I do seem to have a problem with playing God instead of letting go,) but if we go to the Winter Wonder Slam in Fairfax, VA on Nov.21, what are the chances of getting an autograph? Thanks for your time. I am sure you are very busy. I greatly appreciate your positive role model and all that you do for young people. -Suzanne

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why can't Relient K perform in Hawaii???? Grr. Anyway, as far as I am from where Relient K is (in the middle of the Pacific!!), I just wanted to say that I LOVE YOU GUYS---the songs, the lyrics, the message, everything. You've saved me from so many things, and you guys have seriously changed my perspective, who I am (for the better), and my life in general. You guys are the one and only band that I hold very close to my heart. Being a teenager sucks most of the time, and only so many things can keep a girl together, you know? You guys are one of the things that continue to make my life as awesome as it can possibly be. I'm so glad that my friend introduced me to you and your music when I needed it the most. Hopefully, I'll get to go to one of your shows. Soon, I hope. Soon. -FRUITY

Matt,

thought I would quickly look you up and find some way of letting you know how much of truly talented preformer you are. me and my friend where at youth alive qld. We were praying the whole night we could get to the railing in time for your preformance and like God opening the red sea he opened a path and we were in front just in time for your preformance... You guys have got an awesome presence of God over you. You have been highly blessed! I am praying we will be able to come to another of your concerts and hopefully meet you :P

Anyways I pray God will give you back every blessing you have given to us guys.

can't wait to see you sometime soon.

Matt Thiessen was once a man o' many a blog
But has since disappeared into a blogless fog

His readers wait in anticipation
While Matty enjoys his extended vacation

From the blogosphere- he emancipated
And currently is quite Twitterpated

But when one hundred forty words won't do
Sit down at the computer, would you?

Your readers would be ever so supportive
And you'd know that only if

You blogged again.

The new album is incredible. I had no idea what you guys were going to pull out of the hat for this record, but i was not disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. Its erratic, raw and strong, just like music was created to be. The split songs were a cool idea, it was like a new scene in an act and the subtle, and possibly non existent =P, reference to the silver chair in the last track added another layer to a lot of other layers that had me blissfully drowned in by the end of the album. It was an expression of searing emotion for those of us who aren't musically original. Can't wait to see you when you come back down to Oz next year

thank you

Hi Matt,

We met this summer and you asked me to send you the link to my blog. You told me your myspace and gave me instructions so I wouldn't forget it. But I did, so I hope you read your comments: let me know what you think of this review of your latest album here: http://caramichelestrickland.wordpress.com/2009/10/14/the-beauty-of-pain-set-to-music/

and you can check out the post I wrote using song titles here: http://caramichelestrickland.wordpress.com/2009/04/09/matt-and-me/
it's meant to be read tongue in cheek.

Hope you're doing well.

i just want to say, in light of your personal things that are going on, that i LOVE relient k, and that while i would love you to blog again soon, its understandable that you arent, and i think its very admirable that youre not broadcasting whats going on for the entire world to hear. like some other people.
