*

The last few weeks of tour have been wonderful (as expected). We've been through a lot of our favorite towns and met a ton of great people.

We got to see Death Cab For Cutie on a day off in Columbus, and the show was EXCELLENT. They're always good, but the set list was the best its ever been. Ethan had a fun little birthday when we were in the Boston area, and I got to go to the best Cleveland Browns game that I've seen in a LONG time.... if not ever.

I'm pretty sure I didn't get on TV with my sign (which was a little wordy), but I'm ecstatic that the text proved to be applicable. Nobody gave my Brownies a chance against the champion New York Football Giants, but they played an excellent game, and turned my first Monday Night Football experience into one pretty magnificent night. My buddy 2tone (who is the biggest Giants fan I know) drove up from Nashville, we went to Kinkos to print up some signs, and we went to the stadium to sit four rows away from the Brown's bench and the 30 yard line. My brother Jeremy scored us the sweet seats. The Browns followed up by scoring those 35 sweet, sweet points. Great night.

The mercury is beginning to slide down the thermometer, and its feeling more like autumn everyday. We're hitting NYC tomorrow, and then we'll make our way down the east coast towards warmer temperatures. Looking forward to it.

Glad the tour is good and that the football nights are fun. I'm assuming you're fantasy footballin' up a storm? So are you dominating or what?

Keep the updates coming and best of luck on the rest of the tour. =]

Ya know..... the WEST coast has some pretty toasty temperatures..... you should come on down sometime...... seriously. You still owe me the chance to sing onstage with you, since you so cruelly *cough* *cough* took it away in Davis on the Appetite Tour......

that's an awesome sign. i actually saw that game... the only time this year i've paid attention to football. what a coincidence. maybe it's because the chiefs are painful to watch. :/

on the bright side, i got to sit next to manute bol today. i have never felt so short.

I guess I don't really have a comment about your post... but this is more of a random sidenote: I think you should write a musical.

Sorry, I realize this is from a total stranger, but I am a graphic designer working in NYC at a place that designs broadway show posters (my dream job if you can believe!). We get all kinds of great, FREE tickets and I was sitting in the musical, 13, last night and the above-mentioned thought popped into my head. Of all things. Anyway, you should do it. And I'd PAY to see it. And buy the soundtrack. And maybe design the poster. Peace.

Oogaboogallama said...

WOW! That is such an awesome job!!!! I loooove broadway. And yes, completely agree, a relient k musical would be incredible!

Hey! Great show tonight, and it was good meeting you there. I talked to you about Deathbed, and the trumpet playing, and how you thought you needed to hire live string players but they would be too expensive.

Anyway, since I didn't get a chance earlier, I just thought I'd thank you for playing some older songs for us long-time fans. It brought back some good memories.

Come back soon!

erin said...

haha yes, an RK musical would be quite stellar.

chiefs, browns, jags (jaguars), and giants are football teams. the football with the big yellow brackety looking thing at the end of the field and a brown ball and such, not the goal with net and black and white ball one.

greetings to kiwi-a-go-go land!

My mom is from Cleveland … big browns fan … we moved to SC when I was five though.

I just wanted to say, that I have fond memories from back in high school piling into an old car with a bunch of friends and driving to Atlanta to see you guys in concert. (After a long day of teaching 6th grade, I’m not sure I still have that kind of energy haha) Thankfully, you guys are coming to Greenville on the 13th! I am quite excited to see you guys in concert again … you are all very talented and always put on a good show.

Thank you for allowing the Lord to work through your music. :)

you made that sign yourself?
hahah. it's nice.

glad you had a good time.

Wow, I totally missed your last couple of blogs. I'm not a sports fan, but your sign is awesome. LOL

As for Death Cab - I first heard of them from you, believe it or not. I have seen them three times. The last time was on Memorial day. Their stage presentation has improved each time and the music has always been good. I told Nick about Relient K once. LOL I wonder if he ever listened.
